An anthology of contemporary songs inspired by sacred medieval music.

Contemporary music crept into Mora Vocis’ programmes some time ago and is now very much an integral part of their musical offerings.

Although the filiation between medieval music and the music of today is nothing new, the form that Mora Vocis imparts certainly is and that is something all the composers writing for the ensemble are fully aware of. True craftsmen creating the sounds, colours and meaning of the present day, they are caught up with the intricate wrk of the singers and their strong ties with the lyrical quality of medieval music. They are particularly moved and inspired by the novel approach to inducing the resonance of a given venue.

The musicians of Mora Vocis, through their enriching experience of performing today’s music, continue to join forces with contemporary composers to give rise to new monodic and polyphonic pieces for between two and six female voices.

Secrets de l'Âme (Secrets of the Soul) is Mora Vocis’  first programme of exclusively contemporary music, a truly mouth-watering prospect.
